Notes: Please meet Cody!! Cody is a one year old male flashy fawn boxer. He was found by a good Samaritan on the side of the road near Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach. They think he might have been hit by a car, or may have been born with a spinal deformity, but Cody's hind legs do not work normally. Eddie's Wheels generously donated a cart for Cody that provides him with more independence and exercise without further injuring his paws. Out of his cart, Cody gets excited and wants to play, he'll drag his knees on the ground when he runs and even leaps to catch his favorite tennis ball. When he strolls with you on his leash he will use his legs occasionally while still dragging his knuckles so it's important to bandage and protect his paws well and only allow him to walk in the grass. Because of his spinal cord injury, Cody is unable to fully control his bladder and bowels so he needs to be let out every 2-3 hours and to keep his bladder from overfilling it does need to be manually expressed. His foster family does find it best to keep him in a diaper in between his potty breaks and when he sleeps at night to keep him clean and dry. He would do well in a one story home without carpet to limit the abrasions to his feet and allow him to safely and comfortably move around the house. Cody loves meal time and snacks and is a shadow Boxer and will constantly be at the side of his humans. He gives everyone the honorary Boxer hello...lots of wiggles and jumps and kidney-beaning! He will need someone with patience, lots of love and the ability to provide the medical care he will require in the future. Cody gets a little restless at night and will alert when he hears an unfamiliar noise. Cody is up to date on all his shots and is neutered.
