Notes: Meet Bubba – CBR’s newest rescue. Bubba is approximately 9 year young. He’s a little grey around the edges and maybe not quite as dapper as he used to be but if charming, loving and gentle count, this guy is a 10. Bubba’s story may not be unusual for a senior dog but it’s heartbreaking nonetheless. Bubba was found wondering the streets and was brought to the Palm Beach Humane Society. Fortunately, when he was found, he was wearing a collar with a vet’s tag on it so the shelter was able to contact his family with the good news that their wonderful boy was safe. Amazingly, his family didn’t care, without a second thought, they wrote Bubba off and never came to save him. They left this boy in an overcrowded shelter and let’s be honest, his chances of adoption were slim – most people visiting shelters are looking for puppies and young dogs. As soon as CBR received the phone call from the Humane Society a CBR volunteer picked him up. Once he arrived at his foster home, he politely introduced himself to his new boxer sister. His first night in his foster home, Bubba was a little unsure about his new surroundings and sadly would whimper when his foster mom was out of his sight – that was just heartbreaking. But after a good night’s sleep, he began to understand that he was safe. His gentle kiss good morning and his silly grin when you rub his ears is enough to start your day with a smile. Bubba is about as perfect a dog as you can ask for – he’s completely housebroken, he is fine in the house all day while you’re at work, touching nothing that does not belong to him. And believe it or not, this senior boy loves to play and go on long walks. If what you’re looking for is gentle companionship, loyalty, and a dog that asks for nothing more then to be safe and loved, Bubba is the boy you’re looking for. But we must warn you, we think Bubba is a very special boy and you’ll have to be a very special family to be lucky enough to adopt him.
